voicebox choir on Hiatus in 2026-2027
WELCOME!!!
The Voicebox Choir will be on hiatus for the 2026-2027 school year. Our director, Mrs. Sara Rangel-Murphy has taken a position at Mercy, Burlingame as their music director and she will no longer have access to the facilities at St. Charles. This is a massive change and so we've decided to suspend the year and possibly return in the future. This choir was founded in 2007 and has been going strong since then. The group, under Mrs. Sara Rangel-Murphy's direction, has blossomed from 17 students at its inception to over 70 at its strongest. This will be their first year off in almost 17 years. We will continue to update you if things change.

BIOGRAPHY -
Co-Founder & Award-Winning Choral Director
Sara has been teaching in the San Carlos area since 2008. She earned her Masters in Opera Performance from California State University, Northridge. She began her career as an opera singer in the greater Los Angeles area.
Sara and her family moved to the Bay Area in 2005 and since then, Sara has become a major name and force in the music education world on the San Francisco peninsula. Currently, Sara was the music director at St. Charles Parish where she was in charge of the music for all masses including holy days, weddings and funerals. She is currently the K-6 music director at St. Charles school. She is the director of the long-standing, award-winning Voicebox Choir which takes in kids from all over the peninsula. She also runs a private studio of voice students where she helps students to prepare for upcoming auditions. You can see her on stage, occasionally as well. And to top it all off, she is the director of the musical and the 8th grade play at St. Charles.
When Sara is not teaching, directing or singing, she enjoys scrapbooking and card making while raising her two kids, Sean and En, who are in college. .
