WELCOME BACK!!!
We are pleased to announce the Voicebox Choir will be BACK IN ACTION in the 2024-2025 school year!! This choir was founded in 2007 and has been going strong (with the exception of one year off because of Covid) since then. The group, under Mrs. Sara Rangel-Murphy's direction, has blossomed from 17 students at its inception to over 70 at its strongest.
The Voicebox Choir would like to thank their host, St. Charles. This school year, the group will continue to meet in the music room at St. Charles School (where Mrs. Murphy teaches during the day).
The kids will continue to rehearse every Wednesday at St. Charles from but the time has been changed...we now meet from 5:00pm-6:45pm. They will take part in a Winter Concert, a Spring Concert/Showcase, a Concert in the Park in San Carlos and hopefully a music festival in the Spring. Tuition will be $700 + $25 materials/t-shirt fee. This amounts to less than $20 for a 105 min. session (we made rehearsals longer by 15 minutes)...a bargain in this area for sure.
Murphy Music Camps will not turn away any applicants due to financial hardship. Simply email and let us know what you need and we'll work with you.

BIOGRAPHY -
Co-Founder & Award-Winning Choral Director
Sara has been teaching in the San Carlos area since 2008. She earned her Masters in Opera Performance from California State University, Northridge. She began her career as an opera singer in the greater Los Angeles area.
Sara and her family moved to the Bay Area in 2005 and since then, Sara has become a major name and force in the music education world on the San Francisco peninsula. Currently, Sara was the music director at St. Charles Parish where she was in charge of the music for all masses including holy days, weddings and funerals. She is currently the K-6 music director at St. Charles school. She is the director of the long-standing, award-winning Voicebox Choir which takes in kids from all over the peninsula. She also runs a private studio of voice students where she helps students to prepare for upcoming auditions. You can see her on stage, occasionally as well. And to top it all off, she is the director of the musical and the 8th grade play at St. Charles.
When Sara is not teaching, directing or singing, she enjoys scrapbooking and card making while raising her two kids, Sean and En, who are in college. .
