Sara Rangel-Murphy is a professional opera singer, teacher, music minister, choir director, devoted wife and mother of two boys. Sara can be scene all over San Carlos leading many groups of children and adults. Currently, Sara is the musical director at St. Charles Parish as well as the music director for St. Charles School. During the crazy Covid school year, she has even become a kindergarten teacher at St. Charles. When she's finished with her day jobs, she often holds choir rehearsals and teaches private lessons. Sara also created the Voice Box Choir in San Carlos which began with only 18 kids and has grown to over 70 students from Tierra Linda, Charter Learning Center and Central Middle School. Under Sara's direction, the Voice Box Choir has finished in first place at the Heritage Festival in Anaheim, CA and has helped Tierra Linda to win the coveted Sweepstakes award at this festival multiple times.

Prior to teaching and choir directing, Sara was a professional opera singer working in the Los Angeles area and then at the San Jose Opera. She was runner up in the world famous National Eisteddfod in Llangollen Wales (a competition that helped make Pavoratti famous). She graduated with her Masters Degree in Opera Performance from the California State University, Northridge.
