DIGITAL MUSIC/VIDEO CAMP (JULY 29 - AUG. 2) 2019

We're talking bonafide rockstar music videos! This is where it all begins. Picture this- your kid learns all the ins and outs of music editing, digital composing, videography, video editing and storyboarding AND they get to be a producer in their very own, digitally-produced, full-feature musical video. Cool, huh?

Taught by Tierra Linda's innovative, award-winning band director, Joe Murphy, this camp simulates a whole music creation studio where kids learn to record music digitally using live and software-generated instruments. They learn best practices of form and composition to enable them to write a quality piece of music.

They will complete their own compositions before learning the different aspects to shooting and editing video.  Working with a team, they will create and write their own storyboard, select the location of their shoot, record the action, then bring it all into the computer to digitally align their music with the key points of action in their video. Sometimes the kids turn these into commercials, instructional videos or simply their own artistic expression.

Using GarageBand and iMovie, Apple's whole music/video creation studio, this Digital Music/Video Camp introduces real world technology, audio engineering, music composition, visual design, video composition and final post-production of a music video accompanied by their own music.
This camp is open to participants age 8-98. The camp runs from July 30 - August 3rd from 9am - 4pm. Snacks will be provided but campers need to provide their own lunch.

LET'S GET BACK TO BAND! AUGUST 5-9 2019

This week is all about the kids reviving and refreshing their interactions with their instrument to get back into shape before school starts up again. In case they didnt get in enough practice hours during the summer, they can jump start their fall semester with a week of invigorating and challenging instruction from Tierra Linda's award-winning band director, Joe Murphy.

Each day begins with morning warm-ups, sectionals and small group instruction. Individual practice time is also scheduled to ensure each can focus on their specific needs and skill level. Afternoons consist of elections such as African Drumming, Digital Music, Singing and more... Then at the end of the week, the whole band class and any small ensembles who feel they're ready will perform in a concert on Friday for parents/guardians!

The camp is open to participants age 10-15. Each participant requires at least 1 year of experience playing on their instrument. Levels of players will vary, so parts will be altered to fit the needs and skills of each player in the camp. Snacks will be provided. Lunch is NOT provided.
